Legacy of the Elder Star – WebGL Demo

Thanks for playing this single-stage demo of Legacy of the Elder Star! The full version contains 5 stages, 4 game modes (story, practice, boss rush, and daily challenge), 9 different weapons to mix and match, and online leaderboards and achievements (Steam version only).

If you are using Safari, we STRONGLY recommend reloading this page in Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. Safari prohibits locking the mouse cursor to the gameplay window, which severely interferes with gameplay. (Check Unity's WebGL browser compatibility table for details.)

Smartphones and tablets are not currently supported. The game may or may not load on these devices, but even if it does, there are currently no touch controls.

How to play

Legacy of the Elder Star is a side-scrolling shoot-em-up controlled exclusively with your mouse.

• Move the mouse to move your avatar. Avoid enemies and bullets!
• Roll the mouse wheel to adjust your mouse sensitivity/movement speed.
• Hold the LEFT mouse button to fire your guns.
• Hold the RIGHT mouse button and DRAG to use your star dash. Crash into enemies to damage or destroy them!
• Your star dash can only be used for a few seconds at a time. It recharges when not in use.
• A HUD message will appear when your super weapon is ready. Press LEFT and RIGHT mouse buttons TOGETHER to fire your super weapon.

Advanced strategies

• If you're close enough to enemies while shooting them with your guns, each hit will generate extra score items.
• Point-blank gun kills generate bonus score items. You'll hear a "ding" if you do it right.
• Kill multiple enemies during a single star dash gesture to generate bonus score items. You'll hear a "ding" for each enemy if you do it right.
• Get close to enemy bullets to graze them. They'll change color and you'll get an extra score item.
• Kill an enemy after grazing its bullets, and those bullets will turn into bonus score items.
• Time the use of your super weapon to kill a boss and you'll greatly increase your score!
